Update: Our Current Writing Project, and Pausing Trainings
As of June 2025, Ready the Ground Training Team is focusing on writing a movement marshal manual to document and share our learnings over the past decade, so we have stopped offering trainings while we work on this big project.
If you are interested in contributing to the manual in some way, we would love to hear from you. We hope to gather many stories, reflections, illustrations, photos, and ideas from our wide web of movement collaborators and marshals over the years. We’d also love to know if you’d like to receive a copy of the manual when it’s complete. Feel free to reach out to us through our “Contact” page on this website.
About Ready the Ground Training Team
Ready the Ground Training Team (RGTT) strengthens movements for social justice in North Carolina by offering training in nonviolent people-power action and marshaling. We work towards creating a North Carolina where thousands of people across the state have the skills to act together for shared, emancipatory goals.

Training functions as part of a long-term transformational movement-building strategy. In RGTT’s trainings we practice together with our bodies, use popular education to draw upon participants’ experiences, and place our practices in historical context.
Since 2014, our all-volunteer team has shared the skills of nonviolent action and marshaling across the Triangle region of North Carolina (the cities of Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and their surrounding area).
